The Cypriot dance ensemble ROMIOSINI made a remarkable debut at the prestigious International Mask Dance Festival, held in Andong, South Korea, from September 27 to October 6. For the first time, the group showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Greek community in Cyprus through vibrant folk dances from Georgia and Pontus.
Led by Agis Toursidis, the dancers captivated the audience with their masterful performances. Among them was Konstantinos Politidis, a talented employee of ReLux Estates, part of the Orpheus Group holding. Konstantinos and his ensemble triumphed in both group and solo categories, securing top honors at the festival.
The group’s highlight came with their breathtaking performance of the dance Kazbeguri, which earned them the coveted Gold Award. In the solo category, ROMIOSINI's dancers competed against 36 participants from 20 countries, winning the Bronze Medal for their exceptional rendition of the dance Jeyrani.
The Cypriot dancers were met with enthusiastic applause throughout the festival. Their electrifying performance of the dagger dance earned the Audience Award, while the dynamic Serra dance became a viral sensation, amassing thousands of likes on social media.
